Blog Tour: Straight to Hell by Michelle Scott

Straight to Hell

The moment Lilith Straight dies, the Devil appears to claim her soul and cash in on a family curse. Now, Lilith has no choice but to work for him. The job is bad, the boss is worse and she can’t imagine how she’ll explain her new reincarnation to her eight-year-old daughter. But then an arrogant, yet oh so yummy, incubus shows up…and hell heats up just a little more.

Straight to Hell, the first book in the Lilith Straight series, is available at Amazon and Amazon UK.

MY REVIEW
Straight to Hell was a great surpise.

When I first received this book for review I wasn't sure if it'd be my kind of thing, I don't usually read books about 30-something women, but let me tell you I am really glad I got it. This book was amazing and hilarious. I fell in love with Lilith who was just like a real life person. Struggling with her life and trying to stay in the right path. But let's start with what this book is about.

Lilith Straight used to have everything, a loving, rich husband, a huge house, an adorable daughter, and everything money could buy until the day she got divorced and her life started falling apart. Her 23 year-old sister moved in with her, her ex-husband's sister dropped her troubled daughter in her doorstep, her house caugh fire, money was hard to come by and on top of everything else, she died. Lilith then learned a secret about the women in her line, they were all succubus, seducing demons working for hell, who could work their way around anything. She tests her new power to get new clothes and a new washing machine, make her ex do what she wants and a lot more, but not everything is great. Her new boss is determined to have Lilith use her powers for evil and her new co-worker is one hell of a hot incubus.

As I said before this books was a great surprise. I adore Lilith, she fights so hard to not use her new powers for evil and to stay as good as she was before everything changed. She is a very believable person, she reacts the same way anyone would if they were in her shoes. All the characters in the book are so different and well developed that I could actually picture then perfect and expect their reactions, the author made a great work to help us understand them. The story it is a great balance of serious and hilarious moments, just like real life. Really well done. Finally, I am very curious as to what will happen next, I can't wait for the next one.

INTERVIEW
1. Describe your book in 3 words.
Devilish, sexy, fun

2. What inspired you to write Straight to Hell.
I’ve always been fascinated with the concept of Hell, and I wanted to write about it. However, I wanted a different spin from the typical fire and brimstone. I also wanted to write something funny. As for Lilith, she started out as one of those mothers I’ve never really liked (the ones with the perfect hair and makeup even at 7:30 a.m. when they are dropping off their kids at school), but she ended up being much more resourceful and interesting than I’d first given her credit for.

3. Where do you usually write?
I’m lucky to have a lot of space of my own. In the summer, I write in the attic space above my garage. It’s a cozy room with knotty pine walls that remind me of a summer cottage. When it gets cold, however, I move to the main house and write at the desk in my bedroom. This works out well during the day when everyone is out of the house, but at night I get interrupted once in a while.

4. What is the one thing (or multiple) you always have with you while writing?
Iced tea (preferably jade mint from Teavana), and my music. I can’t write in a quiet room, and the iced tea gives me something to sip on instead of snack on.

5. Which are your top 3 favorite series/books of all time?
That is so tough to answer! I guess my favorite book of all time would be The Stand by Stephen King. My favorite series include Harry Potter; Daughter of Smoke and Bone; and The Hollows.

6. Your favorite movies or TV shows?
I generally go for dark drama and suspense. Since I love zombies, I’m a huge fan of both Walking Dead - the TV show - and 28 Days later - the movie. I’m also a closet fan of reality TV, something that I can’t stay away from (much to my shame).

7. What should we expect from you in the future?
There’s definitely more to come from Lilith and her friends (and enemies)! Right now, the Straight to Hell series contains three books, and I’m working on number four. I’ve also started a new series called Bit Parts which involves an out-of-work actress, a handsome vampire killer, and a city full of zombie vampires.
