When those injured in the nuclear blasts that rocked many of the nations largest cities are offered another chance by the Restoration Project, how could they refuse?
Little do they know that the robotic additions to their body will paint targets on their backs once the government decides that they are dangerous. At the forefront of the resistance is a girl with a bionic eye, Blythe Sol, who wants nothing more than to be a normal girl. Blythe has yet to realize that normal will never exist again for her, or anyone else.

Most nineteen year-old girls are thinking about college, stretching the wings of newfound adulthood, and boys. Well, I’ll probably never go to college and all my dreams of the future are gone. I’ve been an adult for much longer than I should have been and my girlhood was stolen the minute the North Koreans dropped their nukes over the United States. As for boys … well, that’s pretty much out of the question now, too. My love life is too messy to even talk about.
I have nothing.
Except, maybe, my cause, my mission, The Resistance. It is the hope I have to cling to, I am counting on it to pave the way to my future. As things heat up and the terrorist sect known as The Rejects make themselves known opponents of society in this war, the choice to be on the side of good is harder than ever. My friends are broken; Olivia is a shell of her former self and Jenica is barely hanging on. Dax and Gage … well, we’re not talking about my love life, remember?
The Rejects, the government, President Drummond; they are pressing in on us from all sides and the weight is tremendous. Still, when given the choice to crumble or stand, I’d rather stand. Times are dark, but we are here, a rebellion, a whisper in the dark, a spark that lights the flames of change.

I am so glad that more books in the Bionics series are coming out. This series is a great dystopian NA story. The year is 4010 and the earth is at war. The goverment is trying to eliminate any people with bionic parts, the parts that it gave them in the first place to save their lives.
I was really looking forward to this book, because it's from Dax's PoV and he is my favorite character. It had everything the previous books had, action, romance, sad moments. Unfortunately, in this book Dax is not his usual fun, arrogant, kick-ass self. He is faced with a lot of changes in his life. Moving on from the girl he could never have, opening himself to a new relationship. He has a lot of guilt and tries to do the right thing by everyone. It was hard watching him suffer so much. If only his life wasn't so complicated... Poor Dax.
All in all, this was a very fast paced, action packed book that gives us a deeper glimpse into Dax's mind. The book takes an unexpected turn at the end, setting the note for the next one. I honestly can't wait because I really want to see how the Bionics will manage to crawl their way out of the mess they are in.
INTERVIEW
Sexy, Gritty, Thrill-ride
2. What inspired you to write The Bionics Series?
I was really struck by the state of America in current times, and toying with the idea of how things could be if we don't wake up and make some changes. Conflicts are popping up all over the world, we're destroying our environment, politics has gotten out of control and divided people ... I loved the idea of exploring the possibilities of a world that has advanced so far in technology, yet has had so many political and social setbacks that it's crippled us.
3. Each book in the series is from a different POV, which one is your favorite to write?
I've always said that Dax is my favorite character POV to write in, and that has not changed. There's something so honest about him that I can't help but love the guy. He's not at all perfect, but he owns his faults. He's blunt about everything, he doesn't hold back, and when he's passionate about something, he gives it all he has. I know that most of my readers are on Gage's side of the love triangle, but there's something so raw and elemental about Dax's love for Blythe that just strikes me. I love seeing her through his eyes and understanding her in a way that nobody else does. Plus, Dax is sexy as hell and his POV is always a bit raunchy, which makes it fun!
3. Where do you usually write?
Anywhere and everywhere! Because I'm a stay-at-home mother, I have to be flexible. I have a desk but I hard ever actually use it for writing. Wherever there's an outlet to plug in my laptop, that's where I write: on the couch, in bed, in my desk chair (but not actually at my desk, which is weird, I know), the kitchen table, etc.
4. What is the one thing (or multiple) you always have with you while writing?
My Beats by Dre headphones (they're noise cancelling), my laptop of course, a snack (usually something crunchy or sweet), coffee or water, and a blanket to drape over my legs (I'm cold natured).
5. Which are your top 3 favourite series/books of all time?
Wow, that's a really hard question for an ecclectic bibliophile to answer. LOL! If I absolutely had to choose, I'd say A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin (this is the series Game of Thrones is based on, for those who don't know), The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn, and The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.
6. Your favourite movies or TV shows?
I LOVE movies! Some of my favorites are old musicals like Grease, The King and I, My Fair Lady, The Wiz, and Hairspray. As far as TV goes I'm a HUGE fan of writer/producer Shonda Rhimes, so Greys Anatomy and Scandal are my must watch shows of the week. I also love Vampire Diaries, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Voice.
7. What should we expect from you in the future?
Who knows, really? I'm so ecclectic in my writing that people should always expect the unexpected. I have ideas for suspense, time travel, romance, fantasy, you name it! But at the heart of all that, always expect strong characters (particularly strong young women), as well as diverse characters!
Ever since she first read books like Chronicles of Narnia or Goosebumps, Alicia has been a lover of mind-bending fiction. Wherever imagination takes her, she is more than happy to call that place her home. The mother of two and wife to an Army sergeant loves chocolate, coffee, and of course good books. When not writing, you can usually find her with her nose in a book, shopping for shoes and fabulous jewelry, or spending time with her loving family.
